Our annual conference 2019
Thursday, Feb 25 2021, 04:04Following the success of our London conference in 2018, we ran a subsequent conference in November 2019. This was very kindly hosted by Ardgowan Hospice in Greenock, Scotland with the theme of bereavement and loss.
The event was over-subscribed, with over 70 people attending from across the UK. Our speakers included representatives from the academic sector, carers, and project leaders delivering services to people with dementia and their carers.
The evaluations were very positive and, prior to the start of the pandemic, we had planned to repeat this event, but in 2020 sadly, this was not possible.

Workshop: Dementia care at home: working together to get it right, October 2018
Wednesday, Feb 24 2021, 09:50We celebrated our 10th anniversary with a free-of-charge multidisciplinary event in London in 2018.
Speakers included Professor Heather Richardson, Joint Chief Executive, St Christopher's Hospice, Rev. Jonathan Croucher, Vicar of Christ Church, Gipsy Hill, our Trustees, Lourdes Colclough, Macmillan Engagement Manager (London), and Dr Adrian Treloar, along with an Expert Panel discussion.
This event was held in memory of Thelma Harvey, our founding Trustee and Chair of Hope for Home or over 10 years.
The event proved to be hugely successful, with over 70 people attending. Attendees included clinical professionals, unpaid carers, social workers, community development leaders and hospice leaders.
The evaluations were overwhelmingly positive about the learning outcomes and their experience of the event .
Buoyed by this success the Trustees resolved hold another workshop in 2019.
